The Arkansas State Fair
The Arkansas State Fair promises to offer a great time to all this October. The entertainment and competition lineup for this year’s fair has something for everyone—concerts, beauty pageants, craft competitions, rodeo, livestock show, and traditional carnival rides and entertainment to name just a few.
Held in Little Rock every year on the state fairground complex, the Arkansas State Fair will run from October 12 to October 20. The livestock show serves as the centerpiece for the Arkansas State Fair. Competition covers the entire agriculture industry—cattle, swine, rabbits, and even poultry. Competition is the name of the game at the fair. Beauty and talent competitions include all ages from little girls to married women. For those who excel at baking or a craft competitions abound—most sponsored by national companies
About 450,000 people enjoyed the Arkansas State Fair in 2011 and this year promises at least as many people as last year. With so much good food, lively competition, and entertainment to be had at one location, residents and visitors alike just don’t want to miss the fair this year. It is one of those rare events where mom and dad really can bring the whole family!
